Lesson on Insurance

We had made an appointment with my life insurance agent to ask some questions. But I cancelled it at the last minute - knowing that I wanted to cancel the policy. I bought this Variable Universal Life Insurance back in 2002. At that time I just thought I needed a life insurance and this policy allowed me to do investment at the same time. It sounded good. I was introduced by a friend who bought this policy too. So I signed it up without much consideration. A couple of years later, I didn't feel good about the policy. After talking to the friend who bought the same policy, it seemed that the investement part was doing fine. And the penalty to cancel it was too high. So I laid it aside until David and I reviewed our financial status recently. The more we learned about the whole term Variable Universal Life Insurance, the more ill feelings we had for it. So David and I sat down and thought about all the scenario. We also read some articles online and watched some video on YouTube given by the famous financial advisors. Finally after many prayers and research, we decided to cancel it tomorrow despite of the penalty - it pays to make a mistake! Now we are smarter and we will have good advice for our family and friends in the future.

The verses for this week are from Ephesians 6:10-17 The Armor of God
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
