Time with the Hills and Chinese New Year's Party

We had a very busy week. Our missionary friends from China Andrew and Jamie Hills stayed with us for five days. David picked them up on Tuesday night. We were so happy to see them. Emily especially enjoyed having two house guests who loved her whole-heartedly. Wednesday night we had dinner at home before David and the Hills went to FriendSpeak. Thursday night we all met up with George, Carolyn, Bob, and Amy for a nice meal at Babe's. Friday night David made the birthday cake for Kendall and we wrapped the birthday gifts for Chloe. Did I mention that Emily had her 15-month checkup this week? She had three shots this time. She gave the nurse a sweet smile before the shots. I'm not sure she will do that again next time ... She still maintains her A+ from the doctor. We don't know when our little girl will slow down a little.

Saturday morning we headed over to Waco for Chloe's 2nd birthday and Kendall's birthday party. It was a very good celebration with family and friends. Unfortunately we had to leave in a hurry to prepare for the FriendSpeak's Chinese New Year's party. Here is the birthday girl Chloe. Isn't she cute?

I dropped David off at church on our way home so that he could start organizing the setting-up of the party. Emily and I came home to change our clothes. The party had a great turn-out. David really put a lot of effort in planning and organizing the activities. We had more people than we anticipated. While David and I were busy with the party, Emily enjoyed interacting with our friends. She only had very little nap in the car. But she did exceptional well at the party. I was surprised that she didn't fall asleep on the way home.

Sunday morning after church, our class had pot-luck lunch together. The food was so delicious that we were all stuffed. Andrew preached the evening service. He did a wonderful job. After the service, we had a small information meeting for LST led by Andrew and Gordon. Emily had another long day that she only had less than one hour of nap. But she was pleasant and happy as usual. Emily rocks!!! She developed deep friendship with Andrew and Jamie while they were here. When we sent the Hills off Monday morning, we told them that Emily definitely will miss them.

Emily loves to "bother" Andrew and Jamie in the middle of their busy work. This was when Andrew prepared his Sunday sermon, Emily stole a moment from him to play:

These two pictues were taken after Sunday information meeting. Can you tell that Emily had a long day already without her regular naps? (After an exciting week and two long days, Emily slept to 11:00am Monday morning. Ha!)

Jamie and Emily

"Hmm, Can we keep Andrew and Jamie longer in our house?"

Many of our favorite friends' birthdays fall in Febrary: Darren, Sandy, Sunny, Chloe, Kendall, Sue, etc. Happy birthday to you all!
