We've been checking out the playgrounds/parks close by. We liked all of them. This one is the closest so we were there several times a week. We also visited the library in McKinney. It's much less crowded than the Plano libraries. We feel so relaxed everywhere we go in McKinney. By the way, do you know that McKinney was ranked #2 the best place to live in America (http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/best-places/2012/snapshots/PL4845744.html)? David said, "I don't think people realize how beautiful McKinney is!" Rolling hills, lush landscape, quiet lakes/ponds, mature trees, ... we were amazed by its beauty everywhere we went.
The kids like to be wrapped together and yelled "Two Clean Babies" on their way to bed after bath recently. And they love to make each other laughing. Their giggles were so contigeous ...
Before the bath: "Where are my babies?" They were hiding in the table!
Andy never resists going to bed after bath
We heard about the Farmer's Markets in McKinney before we moved. The Chestnut square one was the 8th largest in the nation. So we decided to visit it. Andy and Emily had a good visit with the two goats: Collin and McKinney. They dress up as reindeers every Christmas. David's co-worker happen to volunteer over there.
We saw several cute doggie strollers
Andy was very helpful carrying the produce that we bought
David tasted some new food
We liked the farmer's market so much that we took Dad and Amy and Kendall there when they visited us. We enjoyed the live band that day.
The horses has been checking on us ever since we moved in. They got closer and closer as they sensed no danger from us. One day, when the horses came to our fence after they ran around on the grass, David decided to make friends with them. He took a carrot (organic!) to the horses and they loved it. Then David took Emily and Andy with more carrots. The horses had a great lunch! They really liked us! Even after we said bye bye, they still looked at us before they turned around. Emily told me, "Mama, we should feed all the carrots to the horses and buy more tomorrow!!!" We love seeing horses playing, running, eating, walking, and drinking outside our fence. They are so beautiful! We noticed the white horse we saw before was missing. Hopefully the rest of the horses will stay for a long time.
Emily does really well trying the new vegetable. Sometimes she can eat a whole bowl of mixed vegetable. She tried to let Andy try some of it, but she never had luck. Andy wouldn't want to have anything to do with vegetable. Carbs and fruit only most of the time ...
We attended a butterfly activity at Calloway's garden center. The kids enjoyed it.
We also like our new neighborhood pool. It's much better than the one in Plano and Emily never had any allergy in this pool. It has a wide shallow area that kids can splash around. Emily and Andy just loved it!
Emily's school started on September 4th. Three of her former classmates are in her class. She is already enjoying all the school activities
The night before pre-school
Andy and Emily love being together. They look into each other's interests most of the time. Andy does everything Emily does. While I was cooking in the kitchen, I often heard "OK, it's my turn now." "Now it's my turn." back and forth. I was amazed how well they play together in many situations. Emily even requested to have Andy to go with her to the somewhat dark bathroom ... I don't know how long that will last.
Sunday after church, I walked in the front to open the door. Emily called me from behind "Mama, look at us!!!" I saw these pretty faces: I was in such a hurry to get the camera out and take the pictures that several of them were out of the focus.
Emily and Andy even "committed crimes" together: several weeks ago, they got hold of the gummy vitamins and calciums and fish oils. When I found them behind the chair in the master bedroom, more than half bottles of the vitamins, calciums and fish oils were gone! I had to call the poison control. Luckily there wasn't any immediately affect. Several days later, David found these two under the office desk eating the chocolate candies ... The natural consequence: no sweets for the following week! That reminded me of Adam and Eve. We don't always agree with our Heavenly Father on what our best interest is. But we'd better trust and obey!
The weather has cooled down these days! We started enjoying some cool nights. Fall is in the air!
