China Pics II

These pictures are random also. Our computer mouse didn't work well at all. It took hours to re-arrange a couple of pictures. So I just gave up. The new mouse is on the way. I promise the next post will be better.

This is at the San Francisco airport. The kids loved riding on the conveying belt and the escalators. They were great travelers!

The kids posed on a stone sculpture - Ohoh, you can still see the daddy behind it ...

The Chinese folks sang and played musical instruments in the park

Emily spent lots of time outside playing with her cousin Deng Qi

Little tike playground outside the apartment

A little rest area in front of the apartment

The playground equipment and exercise equipment are right outside of my parents' apartment. Emily and Andy has a blast everyday playing with the neighbors.

Riding a boat at night

Having fun with Deng Qi's mama (she was the most favorite person to our kids).

My high school friends

Emily was brave to sit in it. She actually enjoyed it.

Grapes from my parents farm

Talking to the Ugurs outside the restaurant

Washing apple that Emily picked from the apple tree outside of the restaurant

My high school friends took us for a dinner at a Ugur tent

The Ugur danced for us inside the tent while we were having Ugur flavored dinner (notice that the girls had stacked bowls on their heads when they were flying around)

Dancing/exercising at the square in the evening

Andy was so excited to see the water fountains

Emily rode with Deng Qi in an electronic train

Andy found toys at my parents' farm house

Cute yet not practical trash cans

The guy who was baptised when we were in Beijing (he and his wife were both from my the same area where I was from) on Saturday. We were not able to attend another baptism on Sunday night due to a schedule conflict.

The only baptistry they have

Andy helped Emily to brush her teeth

Got grapes?

Emily was learning about Dates from my dad (she loves Dates)

China Pics part I

The pictures below are not in the time sequence. It was so slow to re-arrange all these pictures. So I'll just add captions to help you.

We stayed at my parents' place most of the time. But since they don't have the air conditioner, we slept all over the places. During the second week we were there, my high school friend offered us to stay at her parents' vacant two story apartment. We slept there until we left. When we were there, we visited my parents' farm, went to the park, visited church, did friendspeak, spent time with family and friends, and ate a lot of delicious food and fruit. Here are part of the pictures:

That's how we eat watermelons - we ate watermelons and grapes non-stop
See how tall the corns (right at the back of David and Emily), the tomatos (left), and the green beans (right) are:

Getting ready to pick the vegetable

Emily cut the grapes off the vine:

Look at these grapes we picked:

The bittermelon inside the bottle (how did my parents put it in?)

The over-sized chinese okra:

The bell pepper was so big!

Picking the vegetable in the garden:

Andy and Grandma in the shade:

See how much we picked in the garden:

Emily and Andy's favorite drinks - Chinese yogurt. We bought lots of them.

David making the Chinese noodles:

Riding on the favorite Chinese cartoon character - Xi Yang Yang

Trying the new balance skill:

Monkey bar

Apple trees were everywhere on the street. You can see all the red apples.

Electronic cars were the kids' favorite - Andy cried everytime when he finished riding.

The kids enjoyed the Chinese food:

Climbing onto the rock

Tired kids on the airplane:

They even slept in the bumpy car riding from the airport to my parents' house - we wouldn't let them do this here in America.

Eating the best breakfast we ever had in a Beijing hotel. Andy had his special highchair.

Andy got fresh produce from the neighbor's garden during his stroller walk.

The kids loved the outdoor life in China. They didn't want to come home. Here is a picture of them visiting with the neighbors. Andy was held by a neighbor; Emily was in the stroller pushed by a neighbor and her granddaughter.

Andy's favorite food. We ate a lot of them. One of the neighbor knew Andy liked the one that looked like a pizza. She bought for Andy and brought it to Andy while the kids were playing outside. These are all different flavors.

The government church that we visited. While we were there, this church had their once-a-year baptism. Over 100 people baptized on that Friday.

Two of the university students who studied Bible with David

We had a late lunch and Andy was sleepy. The waitress wheeled in a crib for Andy to take a nap in it - and he did!

We were amused by this birthday cake. My brother ordered a cake with a "horse" on it (David's zodiac is horse) for David's birthday. Does this horse look more like a pig to you? (This is just a piece of cake on David's plate. )

Views from Gary and Danita's apartment

The world travelers (Andy fell asleep in the taxi)
